The Marketing & BD Coordinator at FSi Engineers is an integral part of our marketing and business development team. This role is responsible for supporting the company’s growth through comprehensive marketing and business development support efforts. This role is pivotal in ensuring a full pipeline of project opportunities, assisting in proposal preparation, and assisting in the promotion of FSi’s brand across various channels. The Marketing/BD Coordinator collaborates closely with the Marketing Director, Business Development Director (BDD), and other team members to research, track, and document project pursuits, develop marketing materials, support client relationship-building, and uphold FSi’s brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
The Marketing & BD Coordinator collaborates with the Marketing Director, Business Development Director, and other team members to implement marketing strategies and assist with business development activities. This role must be knowledgeable about our work and clients and will support a wide range of marketing tasks and company functions. This role will take ownership of researching and tracking project opportunities, documenting our work, developing and supporting qualifications packages, and ensuring everything we produce meets our brand standards with visual and verbal excellence. The Marketing & BD Coordinator will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of projects. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
Develop Qualification Packages
- Coordinate with FSi staff and subconsultants to develop targeted qualifications.
- Create and update resumes, project descriptions, narratives, and marketing materials.
- Organize and layout qualifications packages in response to requests for qualifications (RFQs) while adhering to FSi’s brand standards.
- Demonstrate the ability to adhere closely to the specific requirements of RFQs, including content, formatting, font size, and margins, blending creativity with meticulous attention to detail.
- Provide quality control (QC) review of documents prepared by others.
- Track and document outcomes and maintain records in FSi’s database.
Research, Track, and Document Projects
- Identify and track potential project pursuits in FSi’s geographic regions: Pacific NW, Inland NW, and Mid-Atlantic.
- Maintain accurate project information, working with engineers to develop job descriptions and track statistics.
Support FSi’s Brand and Public Image
- Regularly review and update the website, including blog posts and project updates.
- Support FSi’s social media presence to maintain a consistent brand message.
Assist in Marketing Campaigns
- Assist the Marketing Director in executing marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Track marketing goals and organize the celebration of staff and company accomplishments.
Business Development Support
- Assist in researching and identifying potential business opportunities and client targets.
- Make and track assignments related to business development pursuits.
- Develop an understanding of FSi’s clients, their key staff, priorities, and areas of expertise.
Assist with Client Relationship Management
- Participate in professional organizations and events to support relationship-building efforts.
- Support the BDD in organizing client meetings, follow-ups, and maintaining client databases.
Coordinate BD Logistics
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating business development activities, including meetings, conferences, and events.
- Help maintain an organized and updated database of clients and contacts.
Other Responsibilities
- Actively Support FSi’s Vision, Values, and Purpose:
- Participate in teams and committees supporting FSi’s strategic vision.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Coach and mentor marketing staff and engineers.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in administrative tasks related to marketing and BD efforts, including tracking expenses, managing schedules, and organizing events.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist with planning and coordinating events such as client appreciation events, open houses, and professional networking events.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field a plus.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in the AEC industry.
Skills, Knowledge, and Capabilities
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including command of grammar and punctuation.
- Ability to write clearly and persuasively, incorporating technical information into materials for a lay audience.
- Experience with InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite programs.
- Basic understanding of graphic design principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and multitask.
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines with quality work.
- Experience using graphic design principles including typography, page layout, and website design.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices, with an emphasis on responding to requests for qualifications (RFQs) and ability to communicate technical information to a lay audience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, marketing and support staff, engineers, and clients.
- Close attention to detail and organization.
- Commitment to excellence.
Experience with the following is a plus.
- FileMaker Pro database software.
- Graphic design and photography.
- Business development and experience in the engineering or AEC industry.
- Involvement with community organizations.

- Accurate tracking and documentation of project opportunities and pursuits.
