FSi Engineers: Baltimore Office

FSi Engineers opened the Baltimore office in 2013, when Principal Ben Roush relocated to the east coast. Since that time, the office has grown to three engineers, supporting hundreds of projects in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Virginia, and other states in the eastern US.

We are located at 4709 Harford Road in the Lauraville neighborhood, the original “city-burbs” as Ben calls them, and the original end of the old trolley line. We share the building with Wax Atlas, a retailer in electronics, music, and “wild rarities.” You may find us having a meeting at nearby Zeke’s Coffee, or at the Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays. We appreciate the richness of our location, and that it’s one of the most diverse areas in Baltimore. Based on Ben’s strong commitment to sustainability, our office has built an on-going relationship with Nuveen Green Capital, helping their clients to qualify for hundreds of millions of dollars in low-cost construction loans and utility rebates. Ben sits on advisory boards and committees for sustainability standards and legislation, and that keeps us up on the latest best practices. We love passing that knowledge on to our clients as they plan their facilities.

In a current project for the Curtis Bay Land Trust, FSi is providing MEP and fire protection design for two new multifamily buildings, totaling 10,000 sf. With FSi’s energy consulting as a support, the owner is pursuing certification from the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS), and a net zero energy design.
The Baltimore team also provides design and energy services to clients that include Morgan State University, Eddie’s of Roland Park, Howard Hughes Corporation, Baltimore County, and Brightview Senior Living.

Founded in 1985, FSi Engineers provides a full range of MEP and fire protection design services for public and private clients from the Pacific Northwest to the Mid-Atlantic region of the US. We also provide commissioning, energy modeling, and support for LEED, net zero, and other sustainability certifications.

We're JUST MEP engineers.

We just finished our second round of the JUST™ process, and learned a lot about where we stand in relation to our stated values. The International Living Future Institute’s JUST program helped us measure the nuts and bolts of our commitment to social justice, and the report card is a snapshot of where we stand right now.

Fire protection engineers

One of the specialties of our Baltimore office is fire protection engineering.

Baltimore's Principal, Ben Roush, is grateful and excited about the success of the Baltimore office.
