Seattle, WA | $85,000 – $130,000 | Full-Time

What You’ll Do

Technical Expertise:

  • Mastery of building sciences, HVAC systems, energy efficiency, and building automation.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting controls, and power monitoring systems.
  • Experience reviewing and validating design documents, OPR, and energy code compliance (WSEC and others).
  • Skilled in functional testing, system optimization, and identifying energy-saving opportunities.
  • Proficiency in developing commissioning plans and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of CSI specification format.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam; familiarity with CAD/Revit a plus.

Project Management and Coordination:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects.
  • Skilled at coordinating and facilitating meetings among diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience monitoring construction progress and ensuring successful, timely project delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and guiding teams.

Client & Team Engagement:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues in a collaborative, solution-oriented manner.
  • Experience developing owner training, commissioning reports, and client documentation.
  • Commitment to fostering positive client relationships and contributing to departmental growth.

What You Bring to the Team

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent vocational degree with relevant experience).

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of engineering, commissioning, and leadership experience.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Certified Commissioning Professional or similar credential.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • LEED Accredited Professional.

Soft Skills:

  • Problem-solving mindset with close attention to detail.
  • Professional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Dedication to excellence and continuous improvement.

Physical & On-Site Requirements

  • Willingness to travel to project sites, as needed.
  • Comfortable conducting roof walks, ladder climbs, and other physical tasks to obtain survey data.

Work Environment & Perks

  • Minimal travel required
  • Hybrid Work Schedule: 44 hours per week. In office Monday and Tuesdays each week and two additional days of your choice each month, the other days can be remote.
