U.S. Joint Forces Command

FSi was the mechanical and fire protection engineer for a new 95,400 sf facility for the U.S. Joint Forces Command in Dahlgren, Virginia. The building consists of a central Crisis Action Center surrounded by support offices. The building is compartmentalized into acoustically isolated departments and includes multiple computer-intensive installations. FSi designed systems including boilers, chillers, primary and secondary pumping, HVAC, heating and cooling piping, plumbing, fire protection, and DDC controls.The mechanical systems provide continuous operation and include redundant equipment and back-up energy sources. FSi also provided construction support services.
