In the shadow of the historic Olympia Brewery, the South Puget Sound region has a long history of large and small breweries. It seems only natural that the South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia would launch the first degree program in brewing, distilling, and cider making. The program is part of Thurston County’s Craft Brewing and Distilling Innovation Partnership Zone.

FSi was the mechanical engineer for a design study and cost development for a facility tailored to the program. Our scope included preliminary equipment selection, cost estimating, and work with zoning, water delivery, and rough power requirements.

The program has launched at SPSCC, and quickly filled to capacity. We look forward to the innovations our generation of brewers and distillers will develop!

Relax and tip back a cool project we did for Yavapai College.
