Assessment of Division Wide Mechanical Systems

FSi planned and implemented the assessment of the mechanical systems in all of the county wide transit facilities.

The project consisted of several steps for each building at each base.

• Interview HVAC and plumbing maintenance staff
• Interview Plant Engineers and Design Engineers
• Site visit by FSi and meeting with Base Millwright
• Evaluate system conditions and identify replacement priorities
• Provide project write ups for priority projects

A database was created for each building documenting all mechanical systems, their age and condition, there expected replacement date, and if there are other reasons to replace the systems such as function changes, safely issues, or energy conservation opportunities. The end result of the actual assessment process is to generate write-ups of projects including estimated costs and projected time frames for implementation. These projects will be included in the Annual Plan budgeting process that covers the next six years.
