Passenger Bus Paint Booth & Prep Bay

FSi provided the mechanical study and design for the conversion of two existing shops to a full-length paint booth and a full-length paint preparation bay for the repair and maintenance of METRO’s passenger buses.

The study phase included interviews with shop staff and a thorough site investigation. This project was under an Indefinite Quality Contract. The design included: addition of eight rooftop air handlers; addition of a complete DDC/EMCS system to handle the new units and additional future units; plumbing; piping; compressed air and fire protection modifications to the wet sprinkler system for a full coach paint booth. The project included a code review related to the application of flammable materials.
