Other Administration and Office Building Projects
Details about a few other projects.
- Olympic Memorial Hospital First Floor HVAC Addition FSi provided mechanical engineering services for addition of air conditioning to 5,400 square feet of existing administrative offices. Due to space and budget constraints, the air conditioning system included zone air-to-water heat pumps and liquid cooler. The existing hot water heating system and a new liquid-liquid converter was unused for the heat pump heating cycle. The design utilized ceiling mounted water source heat pumps to provide precise temperature control of designated zones.
- Boeing Commercial Longacres Renovation-Building 25-01 FSi, as prime, provided the project management and mechanical design for the remodel of 100,000 square feet of the Boeing Longacres building. Architectural, structural, and electrical engineering services, as required, were coordinated by FSi. Direct coordination with the contractor occurred to facilitate project completion.
- Boeing Commercial North Region HVAC Evaluation FSi performed a detailed document review and field investigation to troubleshoot the mechanical systems serving two office buildings. The systems were recently installed in a renovation effort, however, the new systems were not maintaining space temperature setpoints. FSi’s review effort included interviews with occupants, engineers, contractors and vendors to obtain the “whole picture”. FSi discovered deficiencies in load estimates, equipment sizing, equipment selection, controls sequencing, system selection, equipment function, calibration and balancing. FSi prepared a report outlining recommended action, including complete rework of the temperature control sequencing. Also included in the report is a lengthy list of prioritized deficiencies with corrective recommendations and construction cost estimates.
- Bureau of Reclamation Building HVAC Evaluation FSi evaluated the HVAC system and wrote a detailed report of findings and recommendations for each component part of the system.
- King County Housing Authority Administrative Office Remodel As one of the prime consultants to the owner, FSi provided project management and mechanical design services for the remodel of a 20,000 sf office building. The building needed to be remodeled in order to operate as the new location for King County Housing Authority’s administrative offices. The scope of work included: evaluation of existing systems; design modifications required for the HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, lighting and power systems to accommodate the partition changes; the addition of a shower, ADA restroom and sinks; and the reconfiguration of a central computer room.
