Pierce Transit Methane Ventilation and Detection

FSi was the prime consultant to Pierce Transit for this project, along with providing the mechanical and electrical design.

The project scope included designs of the sensing, control and ventilation systems for protection against compressed natural gas leaks inside the Pierce Transit bus maintenance facility. The design included 90 sensors to detect natural gas LEL%, PLC controls to activate the exhaust fans, audible alarms, visual alarms, and electrical shunt trip for the building at the 50% LEL.
